Grailed buyers know what they want. They search by designer, season and exact size, compare measurements, and will pay real money for the right piece, but they spot a bad fake or a lazy listing immediately. It’s a focused marketplace: brilliant for designer, streetwear and quality menswear, a waste of time for mall brands.
Who Grailed is for and what sells
Grailed files listings into four sections, and they’re a good map of its audience:
- Grails: coveted designer pieces from labels such as Saint Laurent, Raf Simons and Rick Owens.
- Hype: current streetwear and sneaker releases (Supreme, Air Jordan, Yeezy).
- Sartorial: high-end classic menswear and womenswear, from Brunello Cucinelli and Tom Ford to Alden shoes.
- Core: well-known mass-market brands and vintage clothing.
Experience, not Grailed data: the sweet spot for resellers is Japanese and archive designer, quality workwear and heritage (Visvim, Kapital, RRL, vintage Carhartt and Levi’s), Goodyear-welted shoes and boots, vintage band and graphic tees, and technical outerwear (Arc’teryx, Stone Island). Grailed can remove listings for lack of desirability, and custom or unbranded items are subject to removal, so generic basics don’t belong here; try Depop or eBay. Luxury watches from most major brands (Rolex, Omega, Cartier and others) can’t be listed unless you’re a pre-approved partner. For deadstock sneakers bought to flip, compare against StockX and GOAT first.
How authentication works
Grailed authenticates listings digitally, before they go live. When you publish, items Grailed considers high-risk get human review of the photos and details by Grailed or vetted partners; everything else goes through machine moderation. The team may message you for extra photos, and it can reject any listing. Listings that pass can show a Grailed Verified card. The check is based on your photos and details; the item itself ships straight from you to the buyer.
Replicas are zero tolerance: listings deemed inauthentic are deleted and sellers can be suspended or banned. After delivery, buyers have 3 calendar days to report an item that’s inauthentic, the wrong item, or materially different in color, condition, fabric or measurements. That window is short, but it’s why your photos need to prove authenticity up front.
Photos that clear review fast
Shoot the neck tag, care and content labels, any serial or style codes, hardware and stitching close up, plus the garment front, back and on a hanger or body. For shoes, add the insole, outsole and box label. Clear label shots are what a reviewer, and a sceptical buyer, check first.Listing your first item
- Set up payments. On the Sell page, add payment details before you can publish. In the US that means onboarding with Stripe, which also gets you the lower processing rate.
- Choose the designer, category and size carefully. Buyers filter by all three. If it’s a collaboration, list both designers.
- Write a factual title. Designer, season or year if known, and the exact item name: “Kapital Century Denim Hakama Pants FW19”. Buyers search product names, so use them.
- Add measurements. Pit-to-pit, length, shoulders and sleeves for tops; waist, inseam, rise and leg opening for trousers. Returns are only accepted when a listing is inaccurate, and if you give no measurements, fit is the buyer’s problem. Accurate numbers still win sales. See our measuring guide.
- Describe condition honestly. Note fading, pilling, stains, repairs and alterations. Being “not as described” is the main way a Grailed sale gets reversed.
- Set price and shipping. Pick your ship-from address (Grailed Labels handle the rate for US buyers), decide whether to offer free shipping, then publish. Expect a short review before it appears.
Grailed fees
| Sale price | Commission | Processing (US, Stripe) |
|---|---|---|
| Under $120 | 6%, minimum $1.99 | 3.49% + $0.49 |
| $120 and up | 9% | 3.49% + $0.49 |
| International buyer | Same tiers | 4.99% + $0.49 |
The reduced 6% tier applies to sales on or after May 20, 2026. The $1.99 minimum bites below about $33. Commission is calculated on the “sale price”: with a Grailed Label that’s the listing price only; if you ship with your own label, the shipping you charge counts too. Sellers in a Stripe-supported country who haven’t onboarded pay more: $0.99 instead of $0.49 per transaction, and 5.49% on international payments. Grailed doesn’t say exactly which amount the processing percentage is charged on, so our calculator applies it to the item plus shipping to stay on the safe side.
The $120 cliff
| Sale price | Commission | After commission |
|---|---|---|
| $119 | $7.14 (6%) | $111.86 |
| $120 | $10.80 (9%) | $109.20 |
| $122 | $10.98 (9%) | $111.02 |
| $123 | $11.07 (9%) | $111.93 |
Price at $119 or at $123+, never $120–$122
Because the whole sale jumps from 6% to 9% at $120, a sale between $120 and about $122.90 nets less than a $119 sale. The tier follows the final price, so the same applies when you accept or counter an offer.Worked example
A pair of boots sells for $150 to a US buyer, shipped with a Grailed Label. The buyer pays $12 shipping, which covers the label.
- Commission: 9% × $150 = $13.50 (listing price only, because it’s a Grailed Label).
- Processing: 3.49% × $162 + $0.49 = $6.14.
- Total fees: $19.64. After the $12 label, you keep about $130.36, or 87% of the price.
Shipping on Grailed
All US-to-US orders (including Puerto Rico) must use Grailed Labels. Select Canadian sellers also get them for eligible US-bound items under $750 and 20 lb. How it works:
- The buyer pays shipping as a line item at checkout, so there’s nothing to weigh or quote. The label appears on your Order Details page, usually within minutes, and tracking is added automatically.
- Free shipping is optional. Turn it on per listing and Grailed deducts the actual label cost from your payout at the time of sale.
- Printing: set 4×6 in your shipping label preferences for a thermal printer, or use the USPS QR code and let the post office print it. Any packaging works as long as it fits the label’s size and weight limits. The label will say whether it goes via USPS or UPS.
- Over $750, signature confirmation is added automatically for $4, paid by the buyer, or by you if you offered free shipping.
- Extra-large packages of 20 lb or more need your own label, with tracking uploaded within 7 calendar days. Sellers outside the US and Canada always buy their own labels.
You have 7 calendar days from the sale to ship, or 2 business days if you’ve turned on Expedited Delivery. Miss it and the order can be cancelled and refunded. A buyer can grant up to 14 extra days if you ask, but doesn’t have to. Grailed releases your money within 3 calendar days of delivery, then allow 2–3 business days for the bank.
Offers, bumps and price drops
Binding offers
Most Grailed sales start as offers, and they’re binding: accept one and the buyer is charged immediately. You have 24 hours to accept or counter. A counter voids the original offer, and so does editing the listing, so don’t tweak a description while a good offer is waiting. Grailed’s offer minimum compares the offer plus shipping with your listing price, so low-ballers can’t hide a discount in the shipping. Before you accept, check what the offer nets after fees; Grailed’s own Account Health guidance tells sellers to price with fees in mind rather than cancel afterwards.
Bumping
A bump moves a listing to the top of search results and your followers’ feeds. You can bump every 7 days during the first 30 days. After that, the only way to bump is to drop the price by 10% or more. Plan a price ladder: list with room, use your free bumps in month one, then take a 10% drop each time the listing goes stale. Using bots or scripts to game bumps, favorites or price drops breaks the Code of Conduct.
Taking a deal off Grailed to “save the fees” is also banned, and it takes the sale outside Grailed’s Purchase Protection. Keep every conversation and payment on the platform.
Common mistakes
- Pricing at $120–$122. The 9% tier makes those prices worse than $119.
- Skipping measurements. Grailed buyers buy on numbers, and a wrong measurement is grounds for a return.
- Weak label photos. Missing tags slow authentication and scare off buyers.
- Editing a listing with a binding offer on it. The offer is voided and the buyer may not come back.
- Listing mall brands. They can be removed for low desirability and rarely sell here anyway.
- Shipping late. After 7 calendar days the sale can cancel, and cancellations drag down your Account Health.

FAQ
What are Grailed’s fees in 2026?
Grailed charges a 9% commission on sales of $120 or more and 6% (minimum $1.99) on sales under $120, a reduced tier that applies to sales on or after May 20, 2026. Payment processing is separate: 3.49% + $0.49 for US domestic payments and 4.99% + $0.49 for international payments if you are onboarded with Stripe. With a Grailed Label, commission is calculated on the listing price only.
Do I have to use Grailed Labels?
For US-to-US sales, including Puerto Rico, yes. Grailed requires its prepaid labels on those orders; the buyer pays the shipping at checkout and the label appears on your order page. The exceptions are extra-large packages of 20 lb or more, where you buy your own label and upload tracking within seven days, and sellers outside the US and Canada, who ship with the carrier of their choice.
How does Grailed authenticate items?
Before listings reach the feed, Grailed reviews their photos and details. High-risk items get human review by Grailed or vetted partners, and other items go through machine moderation. The team may ask for more photos and can reject any listing. Verified listings show a Grailed Verified card. The check is digital (the item ships straight from the seller to the buyer), and Grailed has a zero-tolerance policy on replicas.
How do bumps work on Grailed?
Bumping moves a listing to the top of search results and your followers’ feeds. You can bump every 7 days during a listing’s first 30 days. After 30 days, you can only bump by dropping the price by 10% or more.
Are Grailed offers binding?
Yes, in most cases. When you accept a binding offer the sale is final and the buyer is charged. You have 24 hours to accept or counter, and a counteroffer voids the original offer. Editing a listing voids any active binding offers on it. Offers can be non-binding when both buyer and seller are in the EU, UK or another place that does not allow automatically binding transactions.
When does Grailed pay sellers?
Grailed releases funds within 3 calendar days of tracking showing delivered, barring disputes or investigations. US sellers should then allow 2–3 business days for the bank. Some experienced, high-volume sellers qualify for payout once the item is in transit.
