About the Minolta X-570
The X-570 (1983; X-500 in Europe) was a lower-cost alternative to the X-700 without Program mode, but its viewfinder shows the meter’s suggested shutter speed in manual mode. It takes Minolta SR-mount lenses.
What affects the price
- Whether the shutter fires at every speed. Slow speeds that drag or a shutter that sticks cut the value sharply.
- Light seals and the mirror bumper: sticky or crumbling foam causes light leaks. Cheap to fix, but buyers price it in.
- Battery compartment corrosion and whether the light meter still reads.
- Viewfinder and prism: haze, fungus or de-silvering (dark bands) in the finder.
