About the Nintendo GameCube

The GameCube launched in North America in November 2001 and was Nintendo’s first console to use optical discs (8 cm MiniDVDs). Early DOL-001 units have a digital AV port that the later DOL-101 dropped. Check that the disc drive reads games.

What affects the price

  • Whether it’s tested with a game: disc drives that don’t read or cartridge slots that need re-seating lower the price.
  • What’s included: power supply, video cable and one original controller are expected.
  • Yellowing, cracks and missing screws or labels.
  • Mods (region-free, custom firmware, HDMI) change the buyer pool, so they’re left out of this guide.
