How Etsy fees work in 2026
Etsy charges several small fees rather than one big one. Together they usually come to 10–11% of the order for US sellers, or up to about 25% on a sale that came through an Offsite Ad.
- Listing fee: $0.20 per listing (renews every 4 months or after a sale).
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the item price + shipping + gift wrap.
- Payment processing (US): 3% + $0.25 of the total, including tax.
- Offsite Ads: 15% or 12% of attributed orders, max $100.

You sell a handmade necklace for $50 plus $5 shipping. The buyer pays 8% sales tax, the label costs you $4.50 and materials cost $12.

How much does Etsy take from a sale in 2026?+
For US sellers, Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price and shipping, and 3% + $0.25 payment processing on the total including tax. On a $50 item with $5 shipping and 8% tax that is about $5.81, or 10.6% of the sale.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?+
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee covers the shipping price you charge, and the processing fee is charged on the full order total including shipping and sales tax.
How do Etsy Offsite Ads fees work?+
If a buyer clicks one of Etsy’s ads on another site and buys within 30 days, Etsy charges 15% of the order (12% once your shop has made $10,000 in a year), capped at $100 per order. Shops under $10,000 can opt out; above that it is mandatory.
When is the Etsy listing fee charged?+
The $0.20 is charged when you publish a listing, and again when it auto-renews every four months or after each sale of a multi-quantity listing. The calculator counts one listing fee per sale.
