How Facebook Marketplace fees work in 2026
Facebook Marketplace is free for local, pay-in-person sales. When a buyer checks out on Facebook and you ship the item, Facebook takes a selling fee from your payout.
- Shipped orders: 10% of item + shipping + sales tax.
- Minimum fee: $0.80 per shipped item (applies to orders under $8).
- Local pickup: no fee.
- Labels: buy your own and upload tracking; you have 7 days to ship.

How much does Facebook Marketplace take?+
Nothing on local sales paid in person. On shipped orders that go through Facebook checkout, Facebook charges a 10% selling fee on the order total (item + shipping + tax), with a minimum of $0.80.
Does the Facebook Marketplace fee include shipping?+
Yes. Meta’s own example: a $20 item with $5 shipping and $1 tax has a selling fee of 10% × $26 = $2.60.
Can I still ship items on Facebook Marketplace?+
Yes. Checkout and shipping are still available in the US in 2026, and Facebook has brought back prepaid shipping labels for select sellers after pausing them in 2025. If your account doesn’t have them, you buy your own label and add the tracking number.
Is Facebook Marketplace cheaper than eBay?+
For shipped items, slightly: 10% versus eBay’s 13.6% + $0.40 in most categories, both charged on shipping and tax. For local pickup Facebook is free, which is hard to beat for big or heavy items.
