About the Canon EOS Elan 7
The Elan 7 and Elan 7E (EOS 33/30) were released in October 2000 as Canon’s mid-range autofocus film SLRs, with 7-point AF, 4 frames per second and a built-in E-TTL flash; the 7E adds eye-controlled focus. The later Elan 7N/7NE are priced together here. All take Canon EF lenses.
What affects the price
- Whether the shutter fires at every speed. Slow speeds that drag or a shutter that sticks cut the value sharply.
- Light seals and the mirror bumper: sticky or crumbling foam causes light leaks. Cheap to fix, but buyers price it in.
