About the Microsoft Xbox 360

The original Xbox 360 launched in November 2005. Early units were prone to the “red ring of death” GPU failure, which later board revisions from around 2008 largely fixed. The slimmer Xbox 360 S (2010) and E (2013) are excluded from this guide.
